Alright well I've got some news for you all! We received the transfers Saturday morning and found out that I was being transferred to my last area. I just took the bus down here to Hermosillo (like a 7 hour trip) and will be staying here in Hermosillo to finish the mission. The area name is Satelite, and the zone's name is Pitic and I'll be staying as zone leader and also got a new companion. His name is Elder Hunter and he's from the St. George area. We're both brand new to the area so we're going to be basically opening it up and we're hoping to get a lot done with our time. He goes home only six weeks after I do so this will most likely be both of our last areas. The zone has the four assistants in it as well as the four secretaries in the offices so it should be interesting.
To be honest I was pretty surprised to hear that I was being transferred, President had told me beforehand that I was going to be finishing in Puerto Peñasco but I guess that when they were doing the transfers the Lord needed me somewhere else. I left a few baptismal dates up in my old area but I'm still hoping there will be plenty of work for us here. It was definitely a little disappointing to hear that I wasn't going to finish the mission there but it definitely does have a bright side knowing that I'll already be down here when it's time for me to go home. Hermosillo is a nice place, I just hope the heat doesn't kill me/drive me crazy for these last six weeks haha.
Saying goodbye to everyone back there was definitely bittersweet but I know that I'm here for a reason.
This area does have it's advantages though...The house over here is NICE!!! It's two stories and has like four bedrooms and two bathrooms and a full kitchen with a washer AND dryer!!! It's definitely one of the nicest houses there are in the entire mission so that'll be sweet.
I definitely want to focus more on the spiritual-side of the work and possibly a little bit less on the work-side (not saying I'm not going to work) but I really want to come home feeling good and ready to take on the real world again. These are going to be the fastest six weeks ever.
I can't believe I'm already almost going home. The mission has gone by so fast and it's the weirdest feeling knowing that it's my last transfer out here.
I love all you guys and seriously can't wait to see you all again so soon. If you have any questions feel free to send over an email!
Take care, love you all!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
