On Thursday, we got a curious knock on our front door at about 9 in the morning and both of us just looked at each other and thought..."who could possibly be knocking at our door this early in the morning?" But anyways, we opened the door and saw two guys in white shirts and ties like us and before we knew it we were each 'teaching' each other about our beliefs (more like bible-bashing but we'll just leave it at that). They were actually pretty cool and we were even able to place a few pamphlets with them haha.
That same day, the Branch President called us and told me that I had the privilege *sarcasm intended* of speaking again in sacrament meeting this past week. I had just spoke like four weeks ago and my comp has yet to speak yet but it's all good, I really don't mind speaking. I guess they like hearing the white gringo that can't speak completely right speak in sacrament meeting haha. I gave a talk on obedience and why we should keep the commandments and believe it or not it actually went really well! I learned a lot (both in Spanish and the principle of obedience) while I was preparing the talk so it was an overall great experience for me.
And yesterday after the food, we went to an Hermana's house where I was able to give my first two blessings of health to some of her relatives. Before this day I had only anointed the oil on their heads but my comp gave me the heads-up about 15 seconds before the blessings that I would be giving BOTH of them. Needless to say I was a little nervous because I had never done them before in Spanish but when it was all said and done, they went really well and I was able say what I wanted to say.
Well, that just about sums up the past week or so for me! We've had our share of teaching experiences and hopefully we'll have some baptisms coming up in the near future :) Thanks for all the emails and I'll write you guys again next week. Take care, love you guys.
Love, Elder Thayne
