Hey family! This week has been so great! I was privileged in being able to eat (in what I thought) was some of the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life. Every day this past week I got to eat home-made traditional Mexican dishes that were just absolutely amazing. Haha I guess you can say I love the food here. Some of my favorites include (but are not limited to): posole, birria, sonoran dogs (hot dogs wrapped in bacon with frijoles, tomatoes, and almost every other condiment you can think of on top), and some bomb-dig carne asada. I'm thinking about coming back here after my mission solely to just eat the food haha.
As far as the work goes, our baptism, Juan, still seems ready to be baptized, but he was out of town this week for church so we had to push back his baptismal date one week. Tranfers for us missionaries are five days before his baptismal date so we're both hoping and praying that we'll stay here another transfer so we can be able to baptize him ourselves. On another note, we've had to stop seeing a few of our investigators because they weren't progressing, so in a sense we've gotten the opportunity to start fresh here. We've been trying hard to find new investigators and have been contacting a ton of people on the streets. It's definitely more challenging, but we know that there are others out there who the Lord has prepared for us to teach.
Everything else has been going great for us, just enjoying life in general and working hard. I feel like it's the times when we work hard that we're the happiest and have the most fun. It's still yet to cool down here, it being about 70 to 80 degrees all week during the days. The nights are a bit chilly but our house essentially insulates and warms itself, idk how but it's nice haha.
Well, that's it for me. I hope you guys have an awesome week, stay true to yourselves and remember who it is you stand for. Love you guys.
Con amor, Elder Thayne
