This weekend was transfer week, so on Saturday night they called us and told me that I would be heading to....the same area in Nogales for the fourth transfer in a row haha. Neither me nor my comp got transferred so we're setting goals right now as a companionship to baptize X amount of people and have X amount of lessons per week and whatnot. We're hoping to have a lot of success here and find those people who are ready and prepared to hear our message.
This past week was New Years, and let me just tell you how different everything was. Instead of fireworks, we had shots after shots after shots of guns going off in the streets for what seemed like the entire day. At night, everyone and their dog (literally) went to street parties where they played a nice mix of all the overly-annoying American pop music and loud Banda music they wanted at full blast up until around 4 in the morning. It was just about impossible to sleep that night haha. We stayed in the house that night with the other Elders and had our own little party (really a study session) because there was no way we could find anybody to teach that night.
Well that's about all what happened this past week. It was a little hard to find people that were actually home to teach and not in the U.S. for the holidays but we made the best out of what we could. Thanks again for the birthday wishes, have a great week and I love you!
Love, Elder Thayne
