Buenas tardes!
Whew this week was suuuuuper hot! Walking out and knocking on peoples' doors was seriously the worst. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my entire life. This week was a bit disappointing work-wise. Even when we set like three or four appointments a day, people can't seem to be home for them so that just leaves us out in the sun most of the time haha. Luckily yesterday we were able to have a bit more luck in that all of our appointments with people were home and we taught quite a few lessons. We found a couple new families on Saturday that we're going to visit on Wednesday so I'm really looking forward to those lessons.
Today for P-day we played some 'Mafia' as a zone and to be honest this is one of my favorite zones I've been in so far on the mission. It was Elder Vandenbosch's birthday so they sprayed him down with silly string and we ate some Mexican 'choco-flan' cake to finish it off.
My comp and I are doing well together, but if there's anything that I'm not digging down here it would be the weather. It's apparently only like 100 degrees or so, but I can't even imagine when the temperature gets to like 125 like it did last year. I'm pretty sure I'm getting transferred in a few weeks, but I'm just praying it's not Hermosillo or Caborca because those are the two hottest areas on the mission.
Umm lets see... something I learned this week would be that even when the work gets hard or when no one wants to listen to you, you just need to keep working and doing your part because it's in those times when you grow as a person and your faith is being tested. God will bless those who show their faith and keep his commandments. As we say it in Spanish, 'sigue adelante,' or 'keep moving forward.' That's about it for this week! I love you guys, have a great week!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
Oh and also the package you guys sent me got to me yesterday! It feels so nice to have some new shoes to walk in, thanks!!!
