Buenas tardes familia! (translation below)
Well, hopefully all of you could understand that. I'm feeling a little lazy to have to translate that so ask a friend or use Google Translate or something but good luck haha.
I still haven't gotten the package you guys sent me yet but I'm pretty sure if Yumby dropped it off at the mission office it'll get into my hands this week because the zone leaders are heading down there to Hermosillo tomorrow.
Everything is going really well and we're hoping to find someone that we'll be able to put a baptismal date this week so we'll see what happens.
I love you all, thanks for all of the emails as well! Cuídense mucho.
Con amor, Elder Thayne
Translation:
Good afternoon, family!
This week went very well. I got to know most of the members and investigators in the area, and I rode a bike the whole time. The only problem is the bike wears me out, and all I can do when I get home is lie down on the bed and rest because my legs are so tired, haha! Aside from that, I like the area and I like my companion more than I thought I would.
My area has a lot of hills. They are not very big, but they are long, and not very wide. It takes us about 40 minutes on bike to go from end to end.
I am at a point on the mission where I feel and understand that I am not here to just make friends, but rather to teach people to be truly converted. When I left my last area and said goodbye to those I helped convert, I was able to better understand the reason I am here as a missionary. To be able to see the difference in them from the time I first arrived there until I left was was truly amazing. Each one of them became a different person, people filled with hope and light. I love each one of them, and hope to see them again some day.
