Buenas tardes familia,

Another great week for the books! My comp and I have been working really hard lately to find new people to teach and for the most part it's been paying off. A lot of the investgators that we've been teaching are seeming to have a hard time progressing or have been avoiding us lately so a lot of the time we're just stuck in the street with not much else to do except for contact people or knock on doors. But even then we've been having a lot of work and it's actually pretty interesting/fun because the variation of responses we hear is really wide haha. People either take really kindly to us or they want absolutely nothing to do with us. Basically nothing phases me anymore though so when they say no I just say to myself ¨their loss¨ haha. And it's been really nice because we have a lot more work and even if they don't end up progressing we still have more people to visit. My companion gets a bit disappointed at times when the people we visit stop wanting us to come over but that's just part of the work and I try to help him understand that that's just how it is sometimes and we can't always get everyone convinced by our message.

We did have a really cool experience this weekend though! So last Friday we knocked on a door (the first door of the day by the way), and a guy walked out and we asked him if we could come in and share a message with him. He said yes and asked us to come in (which is also weird because most people just tell us to come back another day) and we shared lesson one with him and his wife. We left their house and they told us to come back the next Friday (three days ago). So we came back that Friday and only the husband was home and we taught him lesson two and to be honest he didn't seem that interested but he told us that his wife was. So we told him we'd come back Saturday to teach his wife again too. So we came back the next day and his wife invited us in. So we started to talk a little bit and then my comp asked her how she had been going with reading the Book of Mormon. She opens up the book and we see the bookmark at like page 27 or something like that and 'I thought oh wow that's great!' But then she starts talking and said that she had read 250 pages in those eight days and because she wanted to understand it better again she started to re-read the beginning and that's how she ended up at page 27 again! It was literally a miracle and I've never seen anything like that EVER on the mission. She is super interested and even started asking us about baptism and how we do it in our church. We're planning on setting a baptismal date with her this week.

Apart from the work, it got really cold down here last night and even snowed quite a bit this morning! I was actually kinda disappointed because I wanted to play ball on my p-day and not have to stay inside and do nothing haha.
Well, everything else is going well for us here in our area and I feel really content right now.

Thanks for all of the emails! I love you all and can't wait to see all your faces again in just a little over five months!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
