Whew this Thursday will make it one year out on the mission! This past year has gone by incredibly fast, it literally feels like just yesterday I was saying goodbye to everyone at the MTC, and now I'm on the countdown already. 350 days son!! It's weird thinking that this is my last summer, or my last whatever month, or whatever day on the mission because before I would count and think like, 'oh man I still have ANOTHER (insert month here) left to go' but not anymore. I feel like I've got the language down where I want it and I know what I'm doing out here, so I'm hoping to have a lot more success in this last year I've got left.
This Saturday was the baptism of Tania, one of our investigators, and it all went super well! She was so excited to get baptized and we even got permission from President Robinson to have one of the Elders that originally found her, Elder Juarez, come over to our area and baptize her! We also bought a cake for an after-party at a member's house and a lot of our other investigators showed there as well. It was just an overall great day and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to help her come unto Christ.
Other than that, not too much happened this week. I've been reading a lot of Jesus the Christ and I'm expecting to finish it sometime later this week. It's a great book and it's really helped me as a missionary to learn more about Christ and his role as the Savior. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that has the time haha.
Well, thanks for all the emails. I love you guys, have a great week!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
