Elder Poole and I had another GREAT week down here in Peñasco. We've been finding really awesome people to teach and are having lots of sweet experiences. I feel like Elder Poole and I are teaching really well together and we're seeing a lot of results because of that. I'm really looking forward to the future of the area because there is a ton of potential in our hands and I just want to do my best to capitalize on that.
We had a baptism on Saturday of a 9 yo kid. His name is Jesus Daniel and he's part of a part-member family. One day (the first Sunday I was here), he talked to the branch president by himself and told him that we wanted to be baptized. We then met him and have been teaching him almost every night for about a week and a half and then he got baptized! He's a really smart kid and honestly am really impressed with his dedication and his desire to get baptized. Not many young kids like that just have the self-confidence to go and talk to the branch president like that alone. He's a really cool kid and his grandpa (who he's living with) still isn't a member so we're hoping to work with him as well.
Honestly everything is going great down here for us and I'm just trying to make the best of the time that I've got left. This week is Semana Santa (basically Easter but a full week of it) so a lot of people are here visiting Peñasco and it's getting really packed and busy. Hopefully there will still be quite a bit of work for us to get done this week.
Thanks for all of the emails and support! I love you all and can't wait to be home so soon!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
