This past week was pretty decent! We set a baptismal date with one of our investigators, Swamy, for May 2nd and I'm really stoked because after that day we will have the entire family be members of the church! I seriously love this family and to be honest I don't feel guilty visiting them like four times a week haha because just being there and sharing lessons with them is great. As far as other work, we've been working with some less actives and trying to find new families via references that the other missionaries here give us. It can be frustrating at times because sometimes we have to walk like fifteen or twenty minutes out in the hot heat just to get there and find out that they're not even home. But I guess that's just part of the mission and it only takes one prepared family to be at the door to make it all worth it.
To explain the title of this email, well, my comp and I had just gotten back from the store to buy food for the rest of the week and drop it off at the house before our next appointment. So we grab our pamphlets, leave the groceries on the table, and then out the door we go to this appointment. We get home about three hours later to find an open window and an empty table where the food previously was. The thing is, we didn't leave the window open at all so after some investigating we find that ALL of the windows in our house are openable from the outside in. So some guy came buy our house, ran into the backyard, pushed out the window, reached his hand through the bar-gating and stole all of my comp's food. I was surprised to say the least because I mean like who just steals food like that? I guess it's because our area isn't exactly the safest and the people are poor and willing enough to do such a thing. We locked up all the windows using some wooden sticks though so it shouldn't be happening again.
Everything else has been good with me, it's starting to get hot again so that means walking just becomes more and more of a chore. I got to play some basketball and soccer together as a zone this morning and it felt nice to get back to playing some ball. Thanks for the emails guys, I'll continue to pray for each of you! Have a great week, love you
