This past week went really well for my comp and I. We kept working with our investigator, Jesús, and it looks like he's all set and ready for his baptism later this month. We went to the Tianguis (outdoor plaza mall) on Saturday to kind of celebrate what was my last week in Nogales as well.
As you all know, today is transfer day which means I have some news! Our zone leaders called us yesterday morning and told me I'm heading to....... GUAYMAS! Guaymas is one of the three areas where I wanted to go so when I heard the news I was super stoked. I left this morning on a bus and after a six hour bus ride I got here about two hours ago. I recieved a new comp as well, his name is Elder Francis (yes he's white) but he's from the country of Canada haha. He seems super cool and I'm finally not going to have a comp that's like 5'5'' or shorter so that'll be sweet too I guess.
Guaymas is super cool, it reminds me a lot of like San Diego except for there aren't really many hills and it's a heck of a lot warmer and humid. This week they're having these parades in the street so I saw a TON of people and apparently it's a resort town and a lot of Americans come down here and have vacation houses and whatnot. My new area supposedly is pretty close to the beach and if we have a member who lives over there or an investigator who needs to be taught, we can head towards the beach and get a good look at it.
I'm really excited to be in a new area, I feel like I'm going to enjoy this area a lot more than the last and I'm out and ready to work again.
Thanks for all the support, I love you guys!
Con amor, Elder Thayne
